Gain Ground
Reader Rating:

Your objective in Gain Ground is basically that; Gain as much ground as you can. There are 50 levels in total, and each one literally takes up one single screen. To pass a level you must murder all the enemies in it. Sounds simple, right? Right...
Gain Ground is about as easy as beating Kid Icarus blindfolded. Or finishing Metroid Prime without getting shot. Or... you get the picture.
At the beginning of every stage and after you lose a life, you choose between three different playable characters (more become available as you progress through the game), each one possessing slightly varied capabilities. The muscle-bound hunk goes Terminator with his machine gun, the Amazon chick chucks high-flying grenades, and this mutant, goblin creature throws lofty spears.
If you have a lot of money and you're looking for a game that will frustrate you, then pick this game up. If you absolutely love classic shooters or you desperately want to play a two-player cooperative game, pick this game up. Otherwise, save your money. You're better off trying to beat Prime without getting shot.
