Super Mario 64
Reader Rating:

As the first true 3D adventure platforming game, there's plenty of rough edges, but very few that actually limit the experience rather than broadening it into the ultimate playground title. Mario is equipped with many more moves than he actually needs to complete his adventure and a wide variety of bright, colorful worlds to traverse, making this one of very few titles with the atmosphere, control, and gameplay that make it fun to just jump around and accomplish nothing. It's been often imitated but never duplicated and arguably never bested. For fans of Mario, fans of platformers, or really just fans of video games, this game belongs in your collection.
Legacy...
Super Mario 64 DS has only been remade once on the Nintendo DS under the poetic title Super Mario 64 DS. The only place to play the original game – which featured primitive-but-brighter N64 graphics, superior control to the DS version, and the original adventure missions and special items – is the Nintendo 64 cart, which itself is fairly easy to find. It's still worth a download, if only because few people have an N64 controller that's even half-decent anymore and because nobody wants an N64 in their living room.Reader Reviews
One of the best platform games ever(although I enjoyed Super Mario Sunshine more :P)
