We have Q Entertainment and Tetsuya Mizuguchi to thank for one of the most entertaining puzzle games on the DS, and now they're at it again. The new DS and PSP game is a remix of the 1999 Wonderswan game Gunpey, named after and overseen by Game Boy mastermind Gunpei Yokoi. The DS version will be titled Oto wo Tsunagou! Gunpey Reverse (Connect the Sounds! Gunpey Reverse) and will be released in Japan this Fall.
In the original game, the player moves square blocks containing diagonal lines up and down to create lines from left to right. When a line is created, the blocks containing the line disappear. The objective is to get rid of the boxes before the screen fills, as one might have guessed. Each block will trigger a sound as it disappears, allowing the player make their own melodies (the "music" puzzle element).
