What We Say
Continuing where Metroid II left us, Samus, after completing her mission on SR-388 and eradicating the Metroid threat, takes the last Metroid to the Ceres research station. Shortly after leaving, the evil Space Pirate Ridley attacks the base and kidnaps the baby Metroid. Samus must return to Planet Zebes and rescue the Metroid from the clutches of the Space Pirates and prevent them from discovering the secrets of its power.
Super Metroid was a huge jump for the Metroid series. Gone were the clunky controls, low color palettes and mazes of identical corridors. This time Nintendo gave us a huge, vastly detailed world to explore, stunning graphics and a very dark, atmospheric sound track to accompany the lonely adventuring. As well as a new map feature, giving players information on their current location and routes to where they need to be.
