What We Say
The dawning of a classic series. Metroid introduced the mysterious bounty hunter, Samus Aran as he / she / it wandered across the dark, damp caves of planet Zebes on a mission to eradicate the evil Space Pirates and end their fiendish plans.
The game involved guiding the battle-suit clad mercenary around the world, collecting items and gathering new abilities from the ancient ruins scattered across the land. There was a huge area to explore, and no map was provided, so many players were left scratching their heads at the vast labyrinth of corridors and crevices. Made no easier due to a colour palette bug resulting in corridors being rendered a different colour than when you previously made your way through.
For an entirely remade version of the game, check out the Game Boy Advance title, Metroid: Zero Mission.
