Port of the classic side-scrolling shoot-em-up that kick-started an entire franchise. Metroid, while sporting some fairly primitive gameplay, includes many of the staples of the Metroid series. Wander across the dark caverns of Planet Zebes (And I mean wander. There is no map.), collecting the all-important improvements and upgrades to your battle suit until you're powerful enough to take on the evil Space Pirate leaders, Kraid, Ridley and Mother Brain.
