6.5 Presentation
The new backgrounds and theme songs are nice, but everything else about Capcom Fighting Evolution is a rehash. Granted these characters rock, but they're still in need of an update.
6.5 Graphics
Direct ports from the games in which they were spawned, the character sprites are pretty much caught in the mid to late '90s. The new special effects are cool, though.
6.0 Sound
Evolution's new soundtrack doesn't offer many memorable tunes, and the sound effects are the same ones Capcom's been using for years. Ditto for the voices.
7.5 Gameplay
Capcom put together some of the best fighting games of all time, and some of those mechanics still shine through here. Even so, the mish-mash of styles could have been handled better.
6.0 Lasting Appeal
Two-player mode is great fun, but there's not much to do for solo players outside exhibitions. It's in dire need of additional game modes.
