3 Xbox 4,959/ 271/ 31,766
4 Gamecube/ 4,656/ 6,170/ 511,633
31,000 compared to 511,000. Meh, the Xbox still has a whole lot of ground to make.

I didn't even notice that, wonder what sparked that? Maybe the redesigned PS2.

While sales figures for its launch in North America haven't come in yet, the new-model PlayStation 2 did quite well in its first week in Japan. Dengeki Online reports in its weekly sales accounting that 91,000 new PS2s were sold in Japan in the first week the new model was available, November 1-7, compared to only 17,000 in the previous week.
Retailers reportedly encountered greater demand than they'd first expected. Furthermore, it stands to reason that demand in Japan should perceptibly increase later this month, when Dragon Quest VIII is released on November 27, and early next month, when Gran Turismo 4 arrives on December 3. GT4 will also be part of Sony's first bundle package featuring the new PS2 model.
Sales of PS2 hardware have fallen in Japan this year, down 14.7% in comparison to last year's figures as of the end of October -- the console has saturated the market to a point where nearly everyone who might conceivably want a PS2 already has one. We'll see how the arrival of two killer titles towards the end of this year boosts its fortunes, however.

Well, it's good to see Zelda at the top this week, but PS2 beat the GBASP and the XBOX beat the GameCube. Ouch.

tavares, what do you think about the new arc game?
it looks like it's moving away from the grid based strategic battles in favor of a more action rpg type of game. personally i dont think that's a good idea, but ill still pick it up.
are you interested in the new shining force game? that seems to be doing the same thing....
of course im just guessing at this from videos ive seen of the 2 games

I think the new arc will good even if it isnt stragety based. As for shining force the videos i've seen for it are dope as hell.
