I finally believe the Wii is crossing boundaries
Well I don't want this to get too tedious but yesterday my girlfriend's uncle, father's side had a little party. They are in their 50s plus and after dinner to my surprise he busts out a Wii.
Sucker has Wii Play, Paper Mario, Mario Party, Wii Degree, Tiger Woods & a couple others. I was just amazed and didn't really believe it until I saw it.
The interesting thing was that its like a gateway drug, he has simple titles like Wii Play and Wii Sports but also has had some fun with Paper Mario.
Well that's about it, I guess if you have some first hand knowledge of some non-gamers playing games with the Wii and having a blast might as well post.

Funny Funny, I also just read in my paper that people are still finding them hard to find.
But if you don't want to share then fine. I will go pout in the corner. My main point was that he bought it for the simple fun and is getting into the more hardcore stuff.

I haven't been surprised by anyone having a Wii. But I've certainly been impressed with how the Wii has changed people's minds about gaming in general. I have an N-Philes feature (I should get back to that, actually) all about that.

I think I've played Wii Sports with most of my family, even the people not normally interested in gaming. None of them have went and bought a Wii, though.

Everyone in my house wanted to try Wii Sports when I brought the console home last November. Still I know my parents wouldn't have purchased the console for themselves after trying it out, so I guess it would be a little strange for me to see it in a lonely fifty year old's home.

I'm finding more and more of my older colleagues purchasing Wii's or asking my advice about them. Everyone knows I'm a gamer and they wonder what my impression of the Wii is. The name Wii is really becoming a household name.

I know 4 people that own the console.
1. My friend Mikey (a college student living in a dorm in ..I want to say Oklahoma. ..I haven't seen him in a while, I heard about it through a friend, then spoke to him on the phone about it.
2. My co-worker Matt. He just got out of high school & is just working at the moment.
3. My friend Franky, who really didn't seem like the type that would pick it up, untill he told me about the purchase. ..&, initially, I thought he was joking.
4. My friend's brother, who I never speak to or anything.
*shrugs* I know lots of gamers, it's just that none of them have it.

I know a good couple in their 60's that bought one because of Wii Sports Bowling and they have never played a single video-game up to that point.
And my relatives are getting their own Wiis so their kids can stop giving me heart attacks everytime they swing the remote close to the LCD widescreen TV. Damn ungrateful kids!
