For house look for stuff by Axwell, Steve Angello, Ingrosso etc... There are many more but you should have an easy time finding stuff from these DJ's.

Not much into the house music scene so I can't help you there.
But when I think of wild beats, hip hop legends Mantronix immediately comes to mind.

What do you mean DJ Shadow+Cut Chemist? I know they did a few gigs together but they're completely seperate artists. Cut used to play with Jurassic 5 and although they aren't exactly what you're looking for, they've got some tasty beats and some killer rhymes.
If you like old school hip-hop beats with excellent sampling you should look for Lessons by Steinski and Double D. It influenced a hell of a lot of aspiring DJs back in the day and its one funky record.
As for the stuff you're looking for, do you like electro? I'll recommend some balanced stuff: Boys Noize, Alan Braxe & Fred Falke, Fila Brazillia, Coldcut, Justice, 2manyDJs, MSTRKRFT, Death in Vegas, The Crystal Method, 2 Lone Swordsmen, Slam, Pendulum, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, People Under The Stairs, Portishead, Thievery Corporation, Felix Da Housecat.

It means that I like Product Placement and Brainfreeze.
I heard some DJ shadow albums and was disappointed by them. I haven't really seeked out any other live mixes. I'm sure I'd find some enjoyable.
Cut Chemist I've never heard solo. I've heard him with J5 though. J5 is damn good hip hop music. I've only heard Power In Numbers though.
I like listening to mixes by DJ's rather than professional albums. I don't think I've ever heard a proper album by a DJ that I've really liked.
What do you mean by Electro? I have heard thievery corporation. I didn't get into it that much.
I'm mostly looking for DJ's that spin good live sets, and producers that make unique music.
I will check out Lessons.
On a sidenote: who likes boards of canada?

The only really good DJ Shadow album is Entroducing... and that's a fact. It's incredible. The rest of his stuff is fairly mediocre. I like the live thing himself, Cut and Numark do sometimes. It's called Pushin' Buttons. Pretty cool.
Cut Chemist's solo stuff is fantastic. Definitely check it out. It's proof that DJs can create 'proper' music. I saw him live and he blew away just about any other DJ i've ever seen. He's incredible. Look for The Audience is Listening. That's probably his best work. As for J5, Power in Numbers isn't bad but i'd definitely recommend Feedback or Jurassic 5 (self-titled) over it.
I know what you mean, but I think it really depends on what sorta music they're playing. I've heard some fantastic mixes in my time but i've also heard some great albums.
Electro is sorta difficult to define. It's like a cross between electronica, funk and hip hop beats. It's stuff like Alan Braxe, Justice, Afrika Bambaataa, Cybotron, MSTRKRFT, LCD Soundsystem etc.
Thievery Corporation are quite hit-and-miss. They're more trip-hop than anything else though. If you want to hear one of my favourite tunes by them, look up Marching The Hate Machines Into The Sun. It features The Flaming Lips.
Check out Ultimate Lessons feat Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, Coldcut and Steinski. They just did their own take on the original Lessons and it comes out pretty good. It can be a little strange to begin with, but usually it grows on you.
There's a chance you might like the Lo-Fidelity Allstars as well. Check out How To Operate With A Blown Mind by them. It's not exactly easy listening but it definitely comes across with a different approach.
Boards of Canada are pretty sweet.

The Ultimate Lessons are sick. I have to say that I like the newer lessons a lot better than the older ones. Great ++++ing vibe.

Glad to hear you like them. I prefer the Ultimate Lessons as well, but that's probably because the originals were done decades ago. It's amazing what these guys can sample and mix to sound amazing. I love the 'stop in the name of love' sample.

I went to see Adam Freeland in Nottingham for free a couple of months ago - he was fucking incredible. Just as we were all peaking in the middle of the set he seamlessly slipped in some Killing In The Name - everyone went insane..amazing night.
Speaking more generally, if you want some DJ electro stuff you need to check out Four Tet if you haven't already - their album 'Rounds' is a modern day masterpiece, seriously.

I like Boards of Canada too - Campfire Headphase is a sweet album; didn't really get into their other releases that much though.
Also, I was just thinking about some good hip-hop instrumental stuff and RJD2's 'Things Go Better Instrumentals' sprang to mind - fucking fantastic grooves and beats..it's impossible not to like.

I'm usually into live mixes more than I am mix-albums / produced albums.
Bu yeah, RJD2 is absolutely insane. Dead Ringer is a great album

Holyfuck, Four Tet, and Nixego are a couple you might like. I also just got into Alias, whom I would recommend to all.

I really like All Things Fixable - it's the only Alias album I've got though, which others would you recommend? Holyfuck are great too, never heard of Nixego.

RJD2 is almost too good it's untrue. Deadringer is probably his best though. Gotta love The Horror, Good Times Roll, Pt. 2 and Ghostwriter.

All Things Fixable is his best, by and away, but Muted isn't a bad album either. It's got more of a Blockhead-vibe to it.
I just realized that Nixego is a local artist, and I was sent some of his music by a friend. I only have one album, but Shortdude if you're interested pm me or something.
