Am I the only one who doesn't know what console to get?
Warning: don't take this post too seriously, I'm high.
I thought I was getting a Wii, but I'm afraid I will end up storing it in my closet about 2 years after purchasing it.. I'm afraid Nintendo will get BIG for its launch and then after that.. Sony will dominate the game market by releasing good titles, such as MGS, DMC, FF series, etc...
So now I'm stuck. I can't really afford a PS3 (I mean, I could.. but 600$.. wow?) and I'm afraid spending my money on the Wii be wasted.
I don't know why I ask this on this site (too many nintendo fanboys) but I honestly don't know where else to post this. This also brings in another point.. Why all the fanboys? Why the sony and nintendo fanboys? You know what you guys are? Newbies.. Honestly, get over yourselves.. It's about what's best, not about what company makes the system. Come on.. I've grown up with every nintendo console but i'm not some close-minded ignorant tard who praises everything nintendo makes and everytime i see something about sony or ps3 i have to make negative comments.. I mean, besides, anyone who knows anything about video games knows the X-box is in general, pretty bad.. X-box live sucks, X-box games suck, the system sucks.. I have one, it's ok!
It's almost like religion TBH, I go to the "other consoles" forum and I see a bunch of junk like "hahaha PS3 games are 100$! SUCKERS!".. I mean what is that? You're the same kind of people that ruin this world w/ religion (had to conclude that terrible analogy..)
Anyway, what's the deal w/ that?
And someone who has lots of console knowledge/experience recommend me which console I should buy and why (Dont bother recommending me the X-box360.. Unless it's now modable..). I know who you nintendo fanboys are so don't even bother if you're one of them!..

The 360 is easily moddable. Double layer medias are still a little too expensive though.
My advice would just be to wait. Take the wait and see approach and get the system with the most games that interest you.

as of right now the system to own for next generation is the xbox360 cause it has tons of games and xboxlive is awesome(**** what you may think). If you dont wanna pay for a PS3, just buy a PS2(130.00) cause it has more games then any system ever and it has a variety. This way when the PS3 goes down in price you will have a ton of games since its backward compatible. If you want a wii but are going to store it away, then it isnt the system for you, but if you want a next gen system its the one to get for the price and the different experience.
if you still cant make a decision then get a nintendo DS and call it a day.

My X-box live quote applied only to the original X-box. My friend used to play all the time and it was honestly, a joke. I was going to buy an x-box because I heard Marvel vs Capcom 2 was going to be played competitively on it but it eventually got canceled because the game can't be played while it being balanced due to lag (That's what I heard anyway..). What is so good about X-box Live for the 360? I've heard nothing about, which is generally pretty bad..
And for the Wii - It's not like I want to store it in my closet. I'm just afraid the Wii will have some good titles early and then fail to keep its momentum (Much like the gamecube)
Are all three consoles compatible w/ online play? Are they finnaly taking online console gaming to the next level (Actually developping a community w/ competitive games..etc?) Or is the online play on console still a joke?

Silver and Gold
With the launch of the Xbox 360, Microsoft's online gaming service, Xbox Live went through a major upgrade, adding a basic non-subscription service, Silver, to its already established premium subscription-based service, Gold. Xbox Live Silver is free of charge and allows users to create a user profile, join on message boards, access Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace and talk to other members.[15] An Xbox Live Silver account does not generally support multiplayer gaming; however, some games that feature their own subscription service (such as Final Fantasy XI) can be played with a Silver account. Xbox Live supports voice communication along with video communication, a feature possible with the Xbox Live Vision Camera.[16]
Xbox Live Gold has the same features as Silver, plus online game playing capabilities. Microsoft has allowed for previous Xbox Live subscribers to maintain their profile information, friends list, and games history when they make the transition to Xbox Live Gold. To transfer an Xbox Live account to the new system, users need to link a Windows Live ID to their gamertag on Xbox.com.[17] When users go to add a Xbox Live enabled profile to their console, they need to provide the console with their passport account information and the last four digits of their credit card number, which is used for verification purposes and billing. An Xbox Live Gold account generally costs $49.99 USD,[18] $59.99 CDN,[18] £39.99 Pounds Sterling, €59.99 per year.

The Xbox Live Marketplace is a virtual market designed for Microsoft's Xbox 360 console that allows Xbox Live subscribers to download purchased or promotional content. The service offers movie and game trailers, game demos, Xbox Live Arcade games, gamer tag images, and Xbox 360 Dashboard themes. These features are available to both silver and gold members on Xbox live. To purchase the products off market place a hard drive is needed to store the products.[19] In order to download priced content, users are required to purchase Microsoft Points for use as scrip.[20] Not all products have a price, as some are free to download.

Xbox Live Arcade is an online service operated by Microsoft that is used to distribute arcade video games to Xbox and Xbox 360 owners. In addition to classic arcade games, the service offers some new original games. As well as games from other consoles, such as the Genesis title, Sonic the Hedgehog or the PlayStation's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The service was first launched in late 2004[21] and offers games for about $5 to $15 USD in Microsoft Points. In late 2005, Xbox Live Arcade was re-launched with the release of the Xbox 360 in which new games and features were offered. The games are generally aimed toward more casual gamers, examples of some of the more popular among them are Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved,[22] Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting,[23] and UNO.[24]

next gen pretty much = online. Honestly, online on xbox live is an amazing experience. I love just going on it and playing UNO or Ghost recon with a buddy. (i like to play with bobsweeny..orangeade? because he's ****ing hilarious). The marketplace is just phenomenal. Downloading new trailers, demos, and arcade games is a great feature. This is great if you're thinking about buying a game, but still aren't sure. Of course, not every game has a demo. The fact that you can play a part of an awesome game that is months and months away from release is freakin awesome (i.e Lost Planet).
The whole Xbox Live Experience is great, and I recommend it to u hubert. And I doubt you'll regret that decision.

Wii and PS2 seems to be the way to go, if you didn't get a PS2 this generation already.
Otherwise, stick with Wii until PS3 proves itself or 360 drops in price.

Just because Sony releases good games doesn't mean Nintendo won't as well. I think the whole "Wii60" has a lot of merit, they seem like the best choices this generation.

Here's a doozy: I have an HD TV with VGA inputs- should I splurge on a 360 (around $400), or just buy a new video card/power supply (around $200) and enjoy my existing software at higher resolutions on the new TV?
I really like the (admittedly non-innovative) 360 Holiday lineup, and especially Live Arcade, as Geometry Wars claims another victim. But that extra $200 is that many fewer Wii/DS games, crossing off my belated purchase of Hunters and Rocket Slime, and likely limiting me to just two launch titles for Wii. Also, there's a chance that MS will drop the 360 price after the Holidays.
I'm playing more PC games nowadays, but the Wii60 combo could easily draw me back.

Get an Xbox 360.
The Wii at this point seems to be in line for a huge let down, and the games suck aside from Zelda and one or two third party games.
While I too think online gaming is rather overrated, Xbox Live is incredible, I rarely use it to play other people (except in Marble Blast Ultra... damn is that fun) but there's so much more to Live then that. Demo's give you a chance to play games before you buy, and there's literally a demo for 80% of the library. Friends list, comparing achievements, Xbox Live Arcade... it's awesome. The userface is amazing.
And you can't deny that the 360 has a **** load of sweet games coming in the near (and distant) future (Banjo-Kazooie woooo).
Both the Wii and PS3 have the potential to absolutely crush everything that is great about the Xbox 360. But as of now it's a huge risk on both systems. I totally suggest not buying a PS3 if only because it has the potential to flop at the market and the potential of a price drop. Also the fact that I don't want MGS4 and FFXIII might have something to do with it.
The Xbox 360 is a nice middle man system, everyone should own one.

With all these:
Animal Crossing
Battalion Wars 2
Big Brain Academy
Camelot RPG
Cooking Mama: Cooking with International Friends
Donkey Kong: Bongo Blast
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Elebits
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
Guitar Hero
Heroes
Kirby
Madden NFL 07
Mario Kart Wii
Mario Party 8
Mario Strikers Charged
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
One Piece: Unlimited Adventure
Red Steel
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Swing Golf Pangya
Sword of Legendia
TNA iMPACT!
WarioWare: Smooth Moves
Wii Music
Wii Play
Wii Sports
Wii Motor Sports
For Wii I don't understand how anyone could think anything other than greatly of Wii. 360 has just as many AAA titles but it will probably be more worth it next year once it has a fully established library and a more suitable price point.
PS3 on the other hand, has nothing. Don't even consider it until we see what it's going to be putting up for holiday 2007, because as of now it has FFXIII, MGS4 (which is probably going to be ported to 360, regardless of Kojima's comments on making it for the ground up for PS3, it'll be ported), White Night Story, Shin Megami Tensei 4, and Team ICO's next game. Out of that list, only two games seem to be system sellers.
Get a Wii and PS2, and once both start to slow down, get a 360.

Wait until next year for the Xbox 360 library to be established? What? All of the games you listed for the Wii... about two of them are going to be available this holiday. In case you missed the Xbox 360 rack at Best Buy, the library is already established and come this holiday it's going to be over shadowing anything the Wii and PS3 has to offer (aside from maybe Zelda and Resitance).
The Wii has me excited, don't get me wrong, I mean I'll be camping out for it, which is a first for me, but Nintendo has yet to prove anything, and the launch line-up sure as hell won't either. All I see are half assed upgrades from games from the last generation. Only a few games were actually designed specifically for the Wii (and I know one of them is going to blow - Red Steel), and that's where I think Nintendo is going to run into trouble.
You're going to be playing nothing after the launch, just like the GameCube. Remember early 2002? We got Resident Evil... and what, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle? Ooooh. And everyone was playing Smash Bros. until Sunshine and Prime hit that holiday (well Sunshine hit August but whatever). But guess what? We don't have a Smash Bros. to tide us over. **** we don't even have any games online for that matter. Once you've 100% Zelda you're done. You'll test out some other random third party games like Rayman and Red Steel and then you'll shelve the Wii until Mario Galaxy, Prime 3, and Brawl hit stores in late 2007. And that's a fact.
All the while I'll be playing all the second generation, might I add gorgeous looking Xbox 360 games.
But hey, that's just me.
