RHCP double-album "Stadium Arcadium", May 8th?

Red Hot Chili Peppers' new record, Stadium Arcadium, is rumored to be released around March or April, though with several online release calendars citing it to be May 8th in the UK and May 9th in the USA.
"We all contributed equally," Kiedis said. "That hasn't always been the case in the past." Hardcore fans may remember guitarist John Frusciante was pursuing melodies, synths, and new ways of making chord progressions before their last album (which had a mixed reception between both critiques and fans), By The Way.
Anthony Kiedis also told NME magazine that their next single would be "Dani California", taking the character from the song By the way. NME spelt it "Danni", but Anthony spelt it "Dani" with the original song; but either its mostly a mundane detail. This single will be about the character's downfall, and could be expected to be released before the next album.
The Peppers also have a DVD slated for January 31st, 2006 on amazon.co.uk's and play.com's release calendars, entitled "Red Hot Chili Peppers: Woodstock And Beyond". Play.com's description tells us it will be a DVD about their performance with past-RHCP guitarist Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Camp Freddy) at Woodstock 94, not current gutiarist John Frusciante's at 99. "And beyond" may also come into play.
In both Q and NME articles, Anthony spills about how they originally wanted to release 3 albums; but then realized that the 3rd would come out almost 2 years from the first and it wouldn't be as worthwhile. Stadium Arcadium will feature 25 songs (neither of the new songs from Live at Hyde Park will be on). Several of the new songs are circulating in bootleg circles, notably Tell Me Baby, Desecration Smile, Ready Made, and For The 21st Century.

Microsoft how I hate thee, may a plague of
Sychophatic monkeys frazzle morale at your
Neglectfully sustained internet division.
Is it so much to ask for; a functioning IM service?
So much for freedom of speech
Brilliant as your economically aligned mind is, Mister Gates, I am not
Uncertain when it comes to my low opinion of your company or its
Subsidiaries; in fact, in my honest opinion, you are collectively a bunch of untrained

Hmm, I wonder how the RHCP got so big. I mean, they stopped being good a long time ago.

They got so big because recently everybody seems to like them, including parents etc.. With 'Californication' and 'By The Way' the Chili Peppers reached a whole new audience that would probably be horrified if you played them some of the tracks from Blood Sugar Sex Magic or any of the earlier albums.
I've always liked the Chili Peppers, and it was one of the bands that when I was younger introduced me to lots of other rock bands. But, like most true RHCP fans, I think the new albums can not compare to the classic earlier albums..and I for one am not sure if they can ever reach the standard that they set with Blood Sugar Sex Magic, which in my opinion, is one of the best albums ever made..well, it's in my top 10 anyway.
So, yeah, of course, i'm looking forward to this new album, but I don't know if RHCP have got it in them anymore to be as fresh or as exciting as they used to be.

Engh, my favourite Chili's album is Uplift Mofo Party Plan. It's more fun than any of their other records. One Hot Minute is also the shiznit, even though they won't admit it themselves.
And they suck live. They suck a lot live.

New Red Hot Chili Peppers set 'emotionally heavy'
5 Jan 2006
The band reveal more details on their forthcoming double album.
Further details have emerged on "Stadium Arcadium", the forthcoming double-CD from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Set for release late April, the double album, which frontman Anthony Keidis has described as 'heavy', is currently being completed in California with long-time producer Rick Rubin.
Several track titles have emerged; 'Dani California', 'Hard to Concentrate', Desecration Smile', 'Charlie', 'Snow', and according to reports, the band will head out on an extensive world tour, starting with North American dates, shortly after the album's release.
"Arcadium" follows 2002's critically-acclaimed "By The Way" and Keidis described the new set to Q Magazine as "heavy, but it's emotionally heavy with lots of beautiful melodies."

Your fury has been made very clear through your clever use of Emoticons. Thank you.
I've listened to the RHCP since I was three (my mom turned down the volume on the curse words, and I wasnt even allowed to hear Sir Phycho Sexy), so I probably didnt have a choice but to like them. As much as I liked By the Way and Californication when they came out, I rarely go back them except for a few songs (This Velvet Glove, Tear). They just didnt have the appeal of Blood Sugar Sex Magic and the albums leading up to it.
I dont think RHCP can go back and manage to top what was Blood Sugar Sex Magic, but whatever they put out will still manage to be better then 90% of whats on the market. In my opinion.
Also, while I havent seen them Live, they're live CD's are quite good. Half the reason RHCP got so big in California was because there Live shows blew everything out of the water during there time. I couldnt tell if you thats changed now.

I love Sir Pyscho Sexy so much, it's pretty hardcore Good luck finding anything like this on the new album..

I got stopped by a lady cop
In my automobile
She said get out and spead your legs
And then she tried to cop a feel
That cop she was all dressed in blue
Was she pretty? Boy I'm tellin' you
She stuck my butt with her big black stick
I said "what's up?" now suck my dick
Like a ram getting ready to jam the lamb
She whimpered just a little when she felt my hand
On her crotch so very warm
I could feel her getting wet through her uniform
Proppin' her up on the black and white
Unzipped and slipped "ooo that's tight"
I swatted her like no swat team can
Turned a cherry pie right into jam
