14. Slime Mori Mori 2
15. Tales of the Abyss
16. Naruto 4 GC
17. Daredemo Asobi Taisen
18. Mushi King DS

24. Nintendogs
25. Ryu Ga Gotoku
26. Nintendogs
27. Nintendogs
28. Final Fantasy IV
29. Ratchet & Clank
30. Rogue Galaxy
Both Animal Crossing´s and Mario Kart´s numbers are over 200% higher than last week which is insanity. And KH2 is a monster. If you compare this list to last year´s, number 1 game from 2004 (Dragon Quest & Final Fantasy in Itadaki Street Special) would only be number 5 in this list with little over 200k sales.
oh and btw, Brain Training for Adults and AC:WW both passed 1 million mark! Tamagotchi also sells strangely well... for some reason. There is 14 DS games in top 30 so hardware sales should be massive (if there is no shortages).

I'm truely suprised by Nintendogs, the fact that all three are in the top 30 is rather ridiculous.

I wonder if Nintendogs have also sold a million too? Combined obviously.
http://www.gamefront.de/ is reporting that the DS sold 604,000 in the week 19-25 which sounds very plausible the way things have been going!

It needs to be merged with the Japanese sales thread since it has been around longer and covers this topic.

Could anyone quickly compare the sales of a Japanese top-ten software sales number to the top ten in the United States? I rarely pay attention to US-based numbers, but it might be interesting to compare how many units are sold in each country per week and how they compare to each other.
It seems the #1 spot in Japan seems to sell an average of 350,000 units per week. Does the US usually match that?

I dont think any system ever match such numbers the DS is pulling. Not even the PS2 did huh?
I can hardly believe the DS is actually selling this well with the PSP out.

Well my dear Xavius in the US no company(that I know of) keeps track of weekly sales like in Japan so it's hard to compare averages. We only have monthly sales to go by. =/

Hardware is about on par with where the US is at, maybe a tad lower (the DS is an exception lately). GBA seems to sell a hell of a lot more here too.
Software wise, it's a bit different I guess. If you've only been watching sales recently then it's not very accurate as Japan has recieved a wave of highly accepted games (Animal Crossing, Brain Training, Mario Kart, Kingdom Hearts, Rogue Galaxy, Pokemon), so numbers have been high. Typically when it's just a normal month you'll see the number one spot at maybe 40,000 units or so (and then totals at around 100,000 in month total). But with the holiday rush everything seems so much more.
The US however manages fairly high numbers, considering mature, violent games come out every week, one always seems to strike some note against the mainstream. Last month it was 50 Cent Bulletproof, who knows what it will be for December. Licensed stuff sells really well too, I think Star Wars Battlefront II took in around 400,000 for PS2 last month.
So yeah, long story short, hardware = similar, software = higher in the US and more wide spread across games, rather in Japan you see one game sell really high and everything else in lower numbers.
As for hard numbers you'll have to talk to nenned, I don't think anyone posted the software NPD sales for November, and I don't remember where I saw them, so I can't help you there.
