Take-Two might buy Visual Concepts

"Pursuant to an option agreement with SEGA, we have the right to purchase all of the outstanding capital stock of Visual Concepts and Kush," read the company's report. "The option is exercisable until the earlier of (1) March 31, 2006 or (2) the termination of our distribution agreement with SEGA. We are currently negotiating the option price, and we are continuing to evaluate potential opportunities in the market for sports titles."

Crazy. I wish Sammy would have sold off Amusement Vision and Smilebit as well instead of merging them all into one big crapfest.

The same Take Two who bought the makers of Links and Amped from MS?

- There's something going on ...

Last time I checked.. Smilebit = AM6 and Amusement Vision = AM4 and this was after the teams were merged.

And if you're talking about how Sega said they were integrating the teams back into Sega that does not mean the AM studios were merged.

+1

EDIT: Not to mention how Smilebit just released a Typing of the Dead game in Japan and Amusement Vision is currently working on Shining Force.

Smilebit (Jet Set Radio) and Amusement Vision (F-Zero AX, Super Monkey Ball) will not be merging as previously reported, but a part of Smilebit's operations will be transferred to Amusement Vision.

The studios merging first mentioned here was dropped after all.
