The Contest
Nintendophiles.com and Cocoebiz.com present to you the second N-Philes Karaoke Contest to be featured on the site! Ever since the highly successful first karaoke contest was held on N-Philes, the staff here has been thinking of a good way to say "Thank you" to our readers not only for participating, but for sticking with us through all of the changes here. We all got to thinking, and realized that there's no point in us running a site by fans for fans if we don't get to have a bit of fun every once and a while!
With help from Cocoebiz.com, we've come up with a great prize for the winner of this event! The grand prize winner of the second N-Philes Karaoke Contest will win a very special soundtrack straight from Japan, The Legend of Zelda the Music ~Nintendo Sound History Series~. This soundtrack contains 70 tracks from almost all of the Legend of Zelda series' games, including some of the best music from Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time and Link to the Past. This is a great item for any fan of Zelda, Nintendo or video gaming in general and an opportunity like this shouldn't be missed!
How to Enter
Now, you may be asking yourself exactly how you can obtain such an exciting prize! All you need to do is submit a sound file of yourself singing along to a theme from video game (for no longer than 45 seconds) to the address contest@n-philes.com (make sure you have the words "Karaoke Contest" somewhere in your subject). Of course, there are rules you'll have to abide by, but we'll get to that later.
You can use anything to record, whether it be Window's Sound Recorder or music editing software you own. When you submit your entry, make sure to include the following information in your e-mail:
- Your full name
- The name of the original song you are singing karaoke to
- What game the track is from
- Your e-mail address
- A link to your karaoke file
Do not send the file as an e-mail attachment. Please upload your sound file to your personal webspace and include a link in your e-mail entry. If there's absolutely no way you can get webspace, please e-mail the contest address and we'll work something out. Your information will not be given to any third-parties at any point in time unless you are the winner of the contest, in which case your information will be fowarded to Cocoebiz.com so that you may receive your prize. Make sure you read the following rules carefully. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Contest ends on Sunday, February 13th 20th, 2004 at 11:59PM EST.
- One entry per person only. Multiple entries are tracked and voided.
- This contest is open to residents of all countries, except where prohibited.
- The winner of the contest will be picked by a staff on multiple judges from and sponsored by N-Philes.com.
- The winner will be notified by e-mail within two weeks of the contest's end. If no response to the e-mail asking for contact information is given within 14 days, your prize will be forfeited and given to the runner-up.
- By submitting to this contest, you give N-Philes.com the right to use your entry and name on our site. Your entry will be posted when the official results are posted. You also give us the right to use your entry in broadcasts and will always be given proper credit.
- Entries must be submitted in either .wav, .mp3, or .wma format and be no longer than 45 seconds in length.
- No licensed music.
- You are not just limited to Nintendo consoles. If you want to sing to Final Fantasy themes, be our guest. Also, creativity knows no boundaries! If you don't want to sing along to a theme with lyrics, make up lyrics to another theme!
That's it! An extra special thanks goes to Kahori from Cocoebiz.com, and if you don't win the contest don't hesistate to order it yourself, along with any other soundtracks from the site's large collection! 25% of the profits made from sales of the Zelda the Music soundtrack will be donated to the Unicef Tsunami Relief Fund, along with other Nintendo soundtracks such as Mario & Zelda Big Band Live and Mario the Music. Don't be too shy to enter if you don't think you're good, just have fun and remember that none of the judges can sing at all! Good luck!
