Matthew Warren: Hey, I work for a Nintendo fansite, n-philes.com, and I was wondering if I could ask you guys a few questions and take some pictures.
Nintendo Street Team: Nintendo fansite! (To other Street Team member) Can we do an interview?
[phone call]
NST: Yeah, we can do an interview. It's cool.
MW: OK, great.
NST: You guys have a fansite?
MW: Yeah, it's, uh, N-Philes.com. I mean, we're nothing big; I just thought I'd come out and, you know, get you guys' experiences with the Street Team. See how you're enjoying it.
NST: It's a blast.
MW: Is it really?
NST: Yeah, we have a good time. Like, uh, what's all on the site and stuff?
MW: [mumbles] We do reviews and, ah, previews, like I'm one of the weirder staffers; I do some of the more bizarre articles, like the other day I did an article on how many GameCube games I could fit in my mouth.
NST: [laughs] How many GameCube games can you fit in your mouth?
MW: I got 17 in there.
NST: [laughs] That's great.
MW: But we do a bunch of reviews, we report news; we were really busy during E3 and right now we're prepping for the DS launch.
NST: That's cool.
MW: Have you guys gotten a chance to play the DS at all?
NST: [shakes head]
MW: No? I imagine they keep that under pretty tight wraps.
NST: Well, we work for a marketing company, not directly for Nintendo.
MW: Do you guys get to interact with Nintendo at all or do you go straight to the marketing people?
NST: Well, I got with a couple reps to do a Donkey Konga theater out in Chicago; we had it projected on a huge wall.
MW: Oh, cool. Are you guys excited about the DS and Revolution and all that?
NST: Yeah, we're pretty psyched.
MW: All right, great. Thank you both for your time.
NST: Yeah, no problem.

A Street Team member inspects one of the Donkey Konga controllers while somebody plays SSB:M. There's no real reason for the DK controllers to be there.

The Donkey Konga car was unusually empty when I took this. College guys love bongos, and DK is no exception.

This is one of the NST cars. The Street Team guys didn't give me one.

The inside of the cars featured fold-down LCD screens with a GameCube hooked up and controllers. It's like Heaven, but in automobile form.

These cars were completely covered in Nintendo's "Who Are You" campaign material. It was pretty impressive.

The NST guys were nice enough to give me some swag.

More swag. I took this on my own. I've yet to find a girl who can resist the combination of Bowser tattoos, NES pins, and Who Are You bands. I haven't looked, but that's not the point.
