StarTropicsWhile Nintendo spent its time releasing games such as Xevious, Elevator Action, and The Legend of Kage, a great title called StarTropics sat on the sidelines waiting for its chance to shine. One of the first titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System specifically designed for an American audience (though created by a Japanese designer), StarTropics was one of the best top down action-RPG's of its time.
A star pitcher from Seattle visiting his uncle is thrust into a world of aliens, submarines, and malevolence. Mike must muster all his courage to save his uncle, and restore peace to C-Island and the World, all while being equipped with a Yo-Yo (yes, you read that right). Besides being an easy pick for the Virtual Console, however, StarTropics would have been perfect for the Achievement Points system, so let's take a gander at what might have been.
