Achievement Unlocked

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, "Achievements" are the awards given to gamers when they complete a certain objective in a game for the Xbox 360. When a gamer completes a predefined objective, the notice "Achievement Unlocked" scrolls past the bottom of the screen, and the gamer currently logged into the system is then awarded with the Achievement's associated points. Gamers can then show off their GamerTag with their associated score to the masses, giving them ample amount of cred amongst the Internet populace. For example, here is my current GamerTag:

What if Nintendo was the one to create "Achievements" in their games? Microsoft currently has a monopoly on the feature, which has given gamers everywhere a reason to replay games again and again, but what if Nintendo had been doing it first? How would they have appeared if Nintendo had utilized them for their 8-bit titles? Let's imagine.

(The following titles will all use Microsoft's standard of 1000 Achievement Points per game.)

Super Mario Bros.

With the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System, gamers everywhere were introduced to Nintendo's pudgy mascot, Mario. With plenty of warp zones and secret tricks strewn throughout the vast lands of the Mushroom Kingdom, the game would have been a great fit for Achievement points, and it would have taken many gamers quite some playing to collect every point possible.
