N-Philes Nintendog Lookalike Contest

Everyone loves a good contest, as so obviously shown through our past endeavors. And we here at N-Philes love giving stuff away, especially when it's corporate sponsored stuff! Coming straight off the heels of not only the Win a Wii from N-Philes Contest and the Cartoon Network DS Giveaway, we at first hesitated when Nintendo approached us about another giveaway. We thought, "No one will participate, it's too soon", but we reconsidered and told Nintendo to go ahead and send us whatever they wanted. And send they did. A huge box showed up a few days later, and I mean huge. Practically the size of a fridgerator container, Jared and I managed to wrangle the sucker inside N-Philes' headquarters and ripped it open, only to see... more boxes. But as we unpacked each one we found to our surprise five stuffed animals of the canine variety, puppies featured in the limited edition Nintendogs Dalmations. In the very bottom of the box, five copies of said game and a DS. Fun times! But then came the hard part, trying to figure out the best way to give these neat-o prizes away. So after tossing around a mulititude of rather silly ideas we came up with, drumroll please:

N-PHILES NINTENDOG LOOKALIKE CONTEST

Exciting, I know. But how best to convey what we were seeking was something of a challenge. We knew that we wanted people to submit pics of people and/or things that resembled the puppies we were giving away, but needed an example. But thanks to some quick thinking and the awesomeness of image searching we came up with this:

What better way to convey our search contest than by utilizing a venerated news anchor and a lookalike dog? I'm sure our standing as respected journalists was only further enhanced by our willingness to compare an icon of reporting with a hound dog. Submissions came in droves. We avoided looking at any so as not to have a favorite before all were in. But as of late Friday night, submissions were locked and we were forced to comb through each pick and determine which best conveyed the look of the dog.

So without further ado, the winners!
