Andross

Star Fox Adventures

Star Fox Adventures
From SNES to N64 to GameCube, Andross has always been the mastermind behind any of the sinister events that take place in the Lylat system. Every single incarnation of the Star Fox franchise has climaxed at an epic battle between ship and flying head. It just wouldn't be a Star Fox game without an appearance from old monkey face.
As Fox frees the last of the Krazoa spirits (having already gathered the dozen magic gems and fifty thousand other random glowing items), he watches as it joins its fellow spirits and flies around the temple. Something's wrong though. The spirits fly through Krystal and into the nearby Krazoa God statue. The huge head comes to life, laughs and enters orbit. Fox's wits tell him something's up. Giant statue heads don't usually come to life and laugh manically like this. He jumps into his Arwing and gives chase to the strange being.
In orbit the being reveals itself to be none other than Andross himself! Turns out he'd somehow used the magical power of the Krazoa temple to revive himself after the last battle on Venom. They don't really explain it, probably because they didn't know themselves. Let's just take it as Andross Equals Smart.
The battle begins, and well, isn't really any different to every other encounter Fox has had with the guy. He's the giant floating head with detached hands that you've seen plenty of times before. Granted, this time around he has two faces on either side of his head. One, the lifeless statue head from the temple below, and the other, his real face, but the same tactics and procedures in dealing with him apply. Fox blasts at the eyes and forehead of the statue face, forcing Andross to turn around and retaliate. Looks like he has the same old weakpoints on the palms of his hands too. Dodging swipes and circle beams, Fox disposes of the monster's limbs and tries to avoid being swallowed up as Andross sucks in all the debris around hi -- wait, isn't this in space? How is he even doing that? I know it's a giant floating head battling a bipedal fox in a spaceship, but come on Rare, give us something believeable!
With Andross' hands destroyed, Fox's old friend and ally Falco Lombardi happens to stop by and drops off a few bomb pickups right in front of Fox's Arwing. Fox grabs the explosive device and fires it straight into Andross' mouth, causing his entire head to weaken and exposing his brain for a few seconds. Fox unleashes all he has at the evil brain until the villain succumbs and explodes. And I'm not kidding. Big explosion. Like at the end of Star Wars when the Death Star goes boom. It's even followed by an equally cheesy ending to boot!
Andross vanquished once again, our heroes return to the Great Fox and celebrate their victory as the Krazoa spirits restore the fragmented Dinosaur Planet.
