Even more items?One of AC's biggest draws for gamers is the seemingly uncontrollable desire to collect items. Whether it be a couch to complete your "Kiddie" set, a fossil to give to the museum or simply a rare bug to add to your collection.
But with so many items to be had in Animal Crossing, there had to have been at least a few that were thrown out, right? Yep. Lucky for us, the developers chose to keep them in the game — well, sort of.
What'd we miss out on?
Over 60 items were "left in" by Nintendo. The problem is, they aren't usable at all. The names of the items appear in the inventory menu, but when they are actually dropped in the game, nothing appears other than a small white triangle with Japanese writing across it (some believe the Japanese letters spell "Dummy").
For reasons unbeknownst to us, these "Dummy" items were left out of the final release. The most obvious reasoning behind the disclosure could be regional and cultural differences between countries. It's also very possible that some of them were used for beta purposes. But even still, one would think that some of these items could have crossed over, yet they didn't. Fascinating.
