Nintendo repairing glitched Fire Emblem discs

Early adopters of the Wii title may have noticed a game-crashing bug. Details of the fix inside.

If you have been following the Fire Emblem series, you may know that Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Nintendo Wii is a direct sequel to the last game in the series, Path of Radiance for the Gamecube. One of the features of the new title is the ability to transfer clear saves from a GCN memory card, resulting in boosted stats to certain characters and other goodies in the Wii game.

Some players may have noticed that the game will totally lock up when attempting to transfer game data. This occured since Path of Radiance featured an Easy game difficulty not present in the Japanese version. Deleting any Easy mode saves on the memory card will remedy the error.

For those of you who are unwilling to part with their save data, Nintendo is now offering to replace defective discs for free. Just contact them by email or telephone and they will mail you a shipping label for you to send to them through UPS.
