New Dead Space: Extraction Video
Posted July 3rd 2009 by Adam Glasgow.
EA has released a new "behind the scenes" style video for Dead Space: Extraction today which is here, for your viewing pleasure, after the break.
Nom nom nomming is the name of the game in the most bizarre feeding frenzy the Wii has to offer.
The limits of what Naruto fans are willing to purchase is being tested this summer. Where will you stand?
With slick new animation and solid gameplay, this relaunch proves to be more than a cash-in for fans of the classic series.

There's nothing like starting out the day with a tall, intimidating Clone Trooper blocking passage to the E3 interview with LucasArts. I don't think the guy was intentionally blocking my path, but he certainly was in the way, oblivious to my concern that I was going to be late. Now, the guy was probably just an actor paid to wear an uncomfortable costume all day, but the thought did cross my mind that if I tapped him on the shoulder I was going to get brained with the butt of a laser rifle and thrown into a holding cell alongside some yappy princess and her droid.

Just days after Sega announced that they still expect to support the Nintendo Wii with mature titles despite some lackluster sales, Grasshopper Manufacture's Goichi Suda has gone on record saying that No More Heroes will be hitting different platforms after Desperate Struggle is released. Suda said that he sees a lot of potential in the series as a franchise and wants it to become a bigger success.

Did you ever see that episode of the Powerpuff Girls where giant mutant vegetables try to take over the world, so to avoid a lifetime of leafy green servitude the people of Earth unite and eat their would-be rulers? Oh, you didn't see that one? Well The Munchables is sorta like that, only weirder. If that's even possible.

My favorite game of E3 had a new trailer released today. Of course, it looks amazing. Also worth mentioning - if you pre-order the game from Gamestop they hook you up with a neat wall scroll. Check out what Gamestop has to say about said wall scroll, along with a picture and the trailer, after the break.

The Swedish software company Global Gaming Factory has purchased the Pirate Bay website for the equivalent of 7.8 million US Dollars. That's not a whole lot of money, considering the popularity of the website. But keep in mind, they did lose a pretty important lawsuit not long ago. The founders made a statement regarding the sale, and what will be done with the earnings. More after the break.

I was never the biggest Starcraft kid, but I always enjoyed it, and I've certainly been looking forward to the sequel, which is due out... whenever. In a surprising statement, Blizzard has stated that LAN play will not be an option in Starcraft 2, forcing users, even if they're in the same room, to be connected to Battle.net to play together. Blizzard's statement after the break.

Electronic Arts has taken a lot of flak over the years for churning out sequel after sequel every twelve months for their prize sports franchises like Madden, NCAA Football, etc. Each iteration will often introduce a new feature or a new mode along with the requisite roster/stat updates and maybe a new animation or two. I still don't understand how some people toss down 50 or 60 dollars every year for what amounts to basically the same game. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 on the Wii breaks away from that pattern and delivers one of the finest sporting experiences you can have in the comfort of your living room. Read on to find out why this game is more than just par for the course.

Let me state this at the outset: I don't like Naruto. I don't like the TV series, the movies, the manga or the fanart. But this review isn't for me to harp on the franchise in general; it's about Naruto Shippuden: Ninja Council 4 for the Nintendo DS. Suffice to say, I did not go into this game with high expectations.

In this weekly update, I take a quick look at what's coming out in theaters this weekend and why most of it is probably not worth seeing. If you get nothing else out of it, you will at least be informed of the titles of the movies being released this weekend.

While talking with Videogamer.com, Robomodo president Joshua Tsui stated that the new Tony Hawk Ride skateboard peripheral would be used for more games which are in planning at this time. He mentioned that snowboarding and other board games could use it, but this also brings up the idea of turning Tony Hawk Ride into another yearly series like some other peripheral games. Then you have to wonder if one board will be able to last through the entirety of the series' lifespan considering it is an elongated piece of heavy plastic, or if people will end up buying a slightly upgraded version for each game if one breaks. Only time will tell how the future of this peripheral will play out, and how many people will undoubtedly send these things straight through an LCD television during failed ollie attempts.

It's funny yet sad to know that there is an entire generation of gamers out there who've never experienced the thrill and challenge of a Punch-Out!! game. Although the Virtual Console has recently added the ability to take the ring in the classic Super Punch-Out!!, we haven't seen a new game in the series in over a decade and a half. Thankfully the wait is over in the form of Punch-Out!! for the Wii from Next Level Games. Now the opportunity is there for the new gaming generation to take on the likes of Glass Joe, King Hippo, and all the blatant stereotypes us repeat players have come to love over the years. But is Punch-Out!! just another cash-grab sequel or could it be the next TKO from Tokyo?

Day two of E3 gave me a little more free time than day one since press conferences were over and I only had one interview with THQ later that day (or so I thought). After playing some games, I headed over to the media lounge to double check with Desiré what time my interview was and she told me it was at noon. And then I glanced at my watch, which also indicated that the current time was noon, and hurried to THQ's booth with my free lunch in hand. After getting checked in, Raha Bouda of THQ was nice enough to show me some demos of THQ's latest games.
